Natives

Green skinned near human inhabitants of this planet are descendants of humans who adapted over millenia to the their environment and evolved into a different species. Their skin contains chlorophyl so their organism work as a form of symbiotic bond akin to lichen. They are not able to live of sunlight alone but a form of photosynthesis does add to their metabolism and they do have more energy when on dirrect sunlight. They live on the gargantuan trees of their home planet which are their home, resource and ecosystem all in one.
